On-site residential window screen service

Mobile window screen repair for Raleigh, Cary, Garner and nearby homes.

Best Screens repairs and replaces residential window and porch screens at customers’ homes or through our shop. We repair household insect screens—not phones, tablets or other electronic screens.

Repair or replacement

Evaluate the mesh, frame and hardware together.

Torn or loose mesh may be repairable when the frame remains straight and the correct channel, corners and hardware are serviceable. Bent, broken, missing or badly deteriorated frames may require a custom replacement screen.

Some repairs can be completed on site. Other screens are taken to the shop when the equipment, frame work or repair scope makes shop service more appropriate. Availability, scheduling and the trip or service charge depend on the project location, screen quantity and work required.

Screen coverage by window type

The screen follows the operable portion of the window.

Double hung

Full window screen

Typically covers both the upper and lower halves because both sashes may open.

Single hung

Half window screen

Typically covers the lower half because that is the operable portion of the window.

Horizontal slider

Screen on the opening side

Covers the operable side and is often similar in overall size to a full screen.

Casement

Interior-mounted full screen

Mounts on the inside because the window sash swings outward.

A common wear sign

Why fiberglass mesh can appear white.

Fiberglass screen is coated with vinyl. As that coating wears away, the fiberglass strands underneath become visible and the mesh can look pale or white. That whitening is a sign the material is aging and may be ready for replacement.

On-site service near our shop

Frequently asked questions

Window-screen service questions

Can you repair the mesh without replacing the frame?

Often, yes, when the existing frame remains straight and serviceable. Best Screens evaluates the mesh, frame, corners, channel and hardware before recommending repair or replacement.

Do you build replacement screens when the original is missing?

Replacement screens can be made for many residential windows. The window type, opening, frame profile, dimensions, retention method and hardware must be identified before fabrication.

Are repairs completed at my property?

Some repairs can be completed onsite. Other screens may be taken to the shop depending on the work required.

Is there a minimum number of screens?

The number of screens and travel distance from the shop determine the trip or service charge. Share the quantity and project location so Best Screens can review the request.

Do you repair phone, tablet or electronic screens?

No. Best Screens repairs residential window, porch and door insect screens. We do not repair phones, tablets, televisions or other electronic displays.

Why is my fiberglass screen turning white?

The vinyl coating is wearing away and exposing the fiberglass strands underneath. That visible whitening is a sign of aging mesh.
